FiveDice BT on iPhone: a game in progress with five dice, two held, and the scorecard

How to play

The rules are those of the classic 5-dice game: each turn you build your combination and score it in one of 13 categories, once per game.

1. Roll the 5 dice

At the start of your turn you roll all five dice, right on your own device.

2. Hold and reroll

Hold the dice you want to keep and reroll the rest, up to twice: three rolls in total.

3. Pick a category

Score in one of the categories still open: ones through sixes, three or four of a kind, full house, straights, five of a kind or chance.

4. Highest score wins

Once everyone has filled the 13 categories, you get the final standings with the full score breakdown.

One player hosts, the others join from nearby. No sign-up and no internet connection.

To practice or play solo: the simulated opponent shows a live, turn-by-turn log of what it decides, die by die.

Score at a glance

During your turn the scorecard previews the score for every open category, with the best one highlighted.

Subtotals and bonuses

Upper-section bonus at 63 points or more, +100 for every repeat five-of-a-kind and the joker rule applied automatically.

After the game, the full breakdown with each section’s subtotals can be shared as an image.

No account, no servers

FiveDice BT uses a direct link between devices (Multipeer Connectivity): all you need is to be in the same room.

No. No account and no internet connection are needed: devices connect directly to each other. The only network communication is with the other players in the game. Details in the privacy policy.

The game keeps going: the host plays the disconnected player’s turn automatically, picking at random among the open categories, and labels it as an automatic turn. When the player is back, they resume from their next turn.

There are 13: ones through sixes in the upper section; three of a kind, four of a kind, full house, small straight, large straight, five of a kind and chance in the lower section. You get three rolls per turn.

Scoring 63 or more in the upper section earns the bonus. Every repeat five-of-a-kind adds a +100 bonus, and the joker rule automatically assigns the maximum score when it applies.
